Throughout our long galus, the Jews have had many enemies try to start up with them, whether through forced debates, blood libels, or other means. Yet time and again, it’s the Jews’ wisdom, and of course siyata d’Shmaya, that help save them and foil their enemies’ plans.

WISEcracks is a collection of these stories. These true anecdotes span the centuries; you’ll find stories about the Rambam, Rav Yehudah Halevi, Rav Yonasan Eibshitz, and many other gedolei Yisrael among them. Each story highlights how the gadol Yisrael, or, in other cases, the simple Jew, triumphed over our enemies, with tremendous help from Hashem and by applying the wisdom of our holy Torah…often with hilariously clever results!
